
EU Pledges €200 Million Partnership to Greenland as Trump Renews Annexation Threats
The EU promised Greenland closer ties and €200 million ($232 million) in investment in a signed declaration. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced it before the September 14 Arctic summit. The pledge comes after U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly threatened to annex the self-governing Danish territory, arguing Denmark cannot protect it from Russia and China.
