EU Pledges €200 Million to Greenland Amid Trump Annexation Threats

The EU signed a declaration with Greenland promising closer partnership and €200 million ($232 million) in investments. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled the plan ahead of a September 14 Arctic summit. It follows repeated threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to annex the self-governing Danish territory, which he claims Denmark cannot defend from Russia and China.
