
EU Promises Money and Support to Greenland After Trump Threats to Take Over
The EU signed an agreement promising closer cooperation with Greenland and €200 million ($232 million) in investment. EU leader Ursula von der Leyen announced it before a September 14 Arctic meeting. It follows repeated threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to take over Greenland, a territory that runs itself under Denmark, saying Denmark cannot defend it from Russia and China.
