Blunkett and Cameron criticise inheritance tax on farms

Lord Blunkett said the 20% inheritance tax on farm assets above £2.5m was “a mistake”. He urged Prime Minister Andy Burnham to listen to rural communities. Lord Cameron said the tax was “stupid” at a Countryside Alliance event in Westminster on Monday. Ministers said they were “determined to rebuild trust” with farmers. They said most estates were unaffected.
