Blunkett and Cameron criticise farm inheritance tax

Lord Blunkett said the 20% farm inheritance tax on assets over £2.5m was “a mistake” and urged Prime Minister Andy Burnham to listen to the countryside. Lord Cameron said the tax was “stupid” at a Countryside Alliance event in Westminster on Monday. Ministers said they were “determined to rebuild trust” with farmers and that most estates were unaffected.
