Wormald received record £859,495 pay-off as Cabinet Secretary
Lord Wormald received £859,495 when he left as Cabinet Secretary, head of the Civil Service, in February. The Cabinet Office said £332,897 was contractual compensation and £526,598 was extra severance. The Financial Times said it was a record pay-off. The accounts said most of the extra payment protected his pension at its full retirement value.
