Former head of Civil Service received record £859,495 leaving payment

Lord Wormald, the former head of the Civil Service, received £859,495 when he left in February. The Cabinet Office said £332,897 was money owed under his contract and £526,598 was extra leaving pay. The Financial Times said it was a record. The accounts said most of the extra kept his pension at its full value.
