Mary Gaudron, Australia's First Woman High Court Justice, Dies at 83

Mary Gaudron, the first woman on Australia's High Court, has died at 83. Appointed in 1987 at age 44, she served until 2003 and joined the landmark Mabo ruling on Indigenous land rights. She earlier argued the 1972 equal pay case and ruled on maternity leave, later serving as president of the International Labour Organization's workplace-disputes tribunal in Geneva.
