Mary Gaudron, first woman on Australia's High Court, dies at 83

Mary Gaudron, the first woman appointed to Australia's High Court, has died aged 83. Appointed in 1987 at 44, she served until 2003, including on the landmark Mabo native title decision. Earlier she argued the 1972 equal pay case and decided maternity leave claims. She later became president of the International Labour Organization's administrative tribunal in Geneva.
