Jefferson County Confirms First Measles Death, Apparently Pennsylvania's Third in 2026
Jefferson County Coroner Greg Furlong said Sept. 13 a 40-year-old resident died Sept. 12 from measles complications, the county's first. It appears to be Pennsylvania's third measles death in 2026 after two infants. The state's Sept. 11 count of 676 cases did not include it. The coroner is working with state health officials.
