Jefferson County Reports a Death From Measles
A 40-year-old Jefferson County resident died Sept. 12 from problems caused by measles, county coroner Greg Furlong confirmed Sept. 13. It is the county's first death and appears to be Pennsylvania's third measles death in 2026 after two babies. The state's Sept. 11 count of 676 cases did not include it. Furlong is working with state health officials.
