Asylum Seekers Allege Assault in UK Hotels, Feared Reporting

Three women seeking protection in Britain told the Guardian, in interviews published Sept. 13, 2026, that British hotel staff and guards sexually assaulted them while housed awaiting decisions. An Iranian woman near Heathrow said a guard raped her. They said fear that contacting police would hurt their asylum claims kept them silent. All three later won refugee status.
