Asylum seekers say UK hotel staff assaulted them, fear stopped police reports

Female asylum seekers told the Guardian in interviews published Sept. 13, 2026 that British hotel staff and guards sexually assaulted them. An Iranian woman near Heathrow said a guard raped her. The women said fear police reports could harm asylum claims stopped them reporting. All three were later granted refugee status.
