Automattic Says Mullenweg Remains Chairman and CEO

Automattic confirmed Saturday, Sept. 12, that Matt Mullenweg is chairman and CEO with full board support. The statement, emailed just after 5 p.m. ET, follows a Wednesday board vote to place Mullenweg, founder of WordPress, on paid leave. Automattic is the parent company of WordPress.com.
