National promises 50-officer Auckland transport police team

National says it will create a dedicated transport police team for Auckland if re-elected. The party says 50 new officers would patrol trains, buses, ferries, stations and hubs to stop anti-social behaviour and keep passengers and staff safe. It says the $7m annual cost would come from Budget 2027.
