National pledges 50-officer transport police team for Auckland

National says it would set up a dedicated Auckland transport police team if re-elected. The party says 50 new officers would patrol trains, buses, ferries, stations and hubs to prevent anti-social behaviour and protect passengers and staff. It says funding of $7 million a year would come from Budget 2027.
