Police reviews cleared Labour candidate Naidoo; senior officer apologised

Two police reviews cleared Labour candidate Rakesh Naidoo of wrongdoing, and Assistant Commissioner Tim Anderson apologised. Commissioner Richard Chambers declined to comment after the leak investigation. Both Chambers and Police Minister Mark Mitchell had publicly criticised Naidoo's move into politics when his candidacy was announced in June. Naidoo told RNZ he would not do anything differently.
