Police found Labour candidate Rakesh Naidoo did nothing wrong; senior officer said sorry

Police looked into Labour candidate Rakesh Naidoo twice and found he did nothing wrong. A senior officer, Assistant Commissioner Tim Anderson, apologised. The police boss, Commissioner Richard Chambers, would not comment. Both he and Police Minister Mark Mitchell had criticised Naidoo entering politics when his candidacy was announced in June. Naidoo told RNZ he would not do anything differently.
