Google says EU compliance overhaul will trigger its biggest-ever search quality drop

Google warned September 8 that revised EU search results, built to comply with the Digital Markets Act after an €890 million July fine, will cause the largest quality decline in the engine's history. The changes remove real-time pricing from travel and local results and elevate third-party vertical search engines, whose rankings Google still controls. The Commission has not confirmed compliance.
