
Government concedes pork labels may mislead but rules out law change
The Government accepts some pork country-of-origin labels could mislead shoppers but will not tighten labelling law. Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Cameron Brewer said the scale of the problem did not justify new rules and referred NZPork to the Commerce Commission. NZPork's Brent Kleiss said the response effectively gets the issue off the minister's plate.
