
Government admits pork labels may mislead but won't change the law
The Government has acknowledged some pork country-of-origin labels may mislead consumers but will not change labelling laws. Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Cameron Brewer said he saw no evidence of misleading branding at a scale justifying new rules, and directed NZPork to the Commerce Commission. NZPork's Brent Kleiss called the stance getting the issue "off his plate."
