Government says pork labels may confuse shoppers but won't change the rules

The Government admits some pork labels showing where the meat came from could mislead shoppers, but it will not change the law. Minister Cameron Brewer said the problem was not big enough for new rules and told pork industry group NZPork to take it to the Commerce Commission, which enforces fair trading. NZPork's Brent Kleiss said the move just gets the issue off the minister's hands.
