Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to open 22 September in Los Angeles after eight years and two delays

The US$1 billion Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, founded by filmmaker George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, opens to the public on 22 September 2026 in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. Ground broke in 2018; the original 2021 target was postponed twice. The Ma Yansong-designed building holds 100,000 square feet of galleries. Some 1,200 objects from Lucas's 40,000-piece collection go on view.
