Schlage Brings Ultra-Wideband Precision to Smart Locks, Eliminating Relay-Attack Vulnerability

Schlage announced the Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt at CES 2025, equipped with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for three-dimensional ranging. UWB solves a persistent problem with Bluetooth-only locks: distinguishing exact location—porch versus driveway—at centimeter precision, blocking relay attacks and false positives. The lock also supports Matter-over-Thread, enabling independent mesh-network operation without relying on Wi-Fi connectivity.
