Schlage's Sense Pro Brings UWB Precision to Smart Locks, Solving Relay-Attack Problem

Schlage announced the Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt at CES 2025, one of the first consumer locks to ship with ultra-wideband technology. UWB's three-dimensional ranging solves a decade-old problem in proximity-based auto-unlock: distinguishing your actual location—porch versus driveway—with centimeter precision, blocking relay attacks and false positives that plagued Bluetooth-only locks. The lock also supports Matter-over-Thread, enabling mesh-network operation independent of Wi-Fi.
