UKHSA has confirmed Aedes aegypti — a mosquito that can transmit dengue, Zika, and chikungunya — breeding at east London homes, a UK first. Larvae were destroyed; the area faces enhanced surveillance. Public risk is assessed as low, with no infections. UKHSA warned that a warming climate will drive further invasive mosquito arrivals.
