Ford PCs face voters in three Ontario by-elections after trade talks collapse

Ontario voters cast ballots Sept. 3 in three by-elections — the first electoral test for Premier Doug Ford's government since Canada-U.S. trade talks collapsed in late August. A by-election fills a vacated seat between general elections. Hamilton East-Stoney Creek, formerly held by PC minister Neil Lumsden, was a three-way race. The PCs also held York-Simcoe; the NDP held Scarborough Southwest.
