Four arrested over murder of former world champion Zolani Tete

Four suspects have been arrested in South Africa over the murder of former two-weight world champion Zolani Tete, shot dead in an ambush in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, on 21 August 2026. A 27-year-old woman with him remains in hospital. A 22-year-old man faces murder and attempted murder charges in court on 24 August; three others appear on 25 August. Tete was 38.
