Apple Pivots Siri to Platform-Level AI Service

Apple released a rebuilt Siri on June 9, now integrated at the OS level across iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and other platforms. Unlike the voice-focused predecessor, it operates with cross-app context access—reading your screen and activity across services. Apple is opening APIs for third-party AI chatbots to work alongside Siri, positioning the assistant layer as a platform rival to ChatGPT and Gemini. Developer testing starts immediately; public beta planned for later 2026.
