Rivian Launches R2 Orders as Mid-Size EV Reaches Factory

Rivian opened R2 orders on June 9, converting reservations into live sales. The base Performance trim starts at $57,990, with first deliveries expected Spring 2026. Production began in April at the Normal, Illinois plant. Premium and Standard versions follow in late 2026 and 2027. The staggered rollout targets existing customers before scaling to lower price points.
