Rivian Opens R2 Ordering as Mid-Size EV Enters Production Phase

Rivian converted its R2 reservation base into live orders on June 9, 2026. The entry Performance trim with Launch Package starts at $57,990, with first deliveries expected in Spring 2026. Production began April 22 at the Normal, Illinois plant. Premium and Standard trims arrive in late 2026 and 2027, respectively. The pricing strategy targets existing Rivian customers first while deferring volume expansion to lower price points.
