Hybrids Hit Record 15.4% U.S. Share While GM Fields Only Two — Both Corvettes
Hybrids captured a record 15.4 percent of U.S. auto sales through June 2026, outselling fully electric vehicles nearly three to one. Toyota, Hyundai, and Honda hold about 90 percent of that market. GM offers just two hybrids — both Corvettes using electric power for performance, not efficiency. GM is now racing to reintroduce fuel-saving plug-in hybrids reportedly starting next year.
