Joby Aviation to Acquire Defense Firm Resonant Sciences for $500 Million
Joby Aviation is acquiring Dayton-based Resonant Sciences for $500 million — $450 million in cash, $50 million in equity — with the deal expected to close in early 2027. The 2015-founded firm brings 250 military-cleared employees and systems certified across 20-plus airframes. Joby plans to leverage that expertise to build stealth aircraft, launching a dedicated defense division alongside its commercial air taxi operations.
