DRC Ebola Outbreak Becomes Fastest-Growing on Record as Deaths Top 2,000

Ebola has killed 2,011 people across five DRC provinces as of 11 August, with 4,381 confirmed cases. At least 1,000 deaths came in the prior three weeks. Declared 15 May, it is the fastest-growing outbreak in the country's history, second only to the 2014–2016 West African epidemic, which killed 11,310.
