France Switches Telemarketing to Opt-In Consent

Starting 11 August 2026, France bans all cold calls unless the consumer has given prior consent, under a law adopted 30 June 2025. This replaces Bloctel — the old opt-out do-not-call list — with a universal opt-in rule. Regulators CNIL and DGCCRF have issued enforcement guidance. Businesses must now obtain documented consent before dialing.
