Aptoide returns to Google Play in the U.S. after a decade

Aptoide, a Portuguese independent Android app store with about 25 million monthly users, reappeared on Google Play in the U.S. on August 10, 2026. Sideloading — manually installing apps outside an official store — is no longer required. Court-ordered remedies from the Epic Games v. Google antitrust case forced the access. Aptoide's annual cost: $5,000.
