Liberal MP Shaun Chen to resign Scarborough North seat over accident injuries

Liberal MP Shaun Chen will resign his Scarborough North seat Saturday, citing injuries from a serious car accident in late 2025 while commuting to Ottawa. Chen said the injuries have kept him from travelling to Parliament as often as the role requires. First elected in 2015, he previously chaired the Toronto District School Board. A by-election must follow within 180 days.
