Liberal MP Shaun Chen resigns Scarborough North seat, citing accident injuries

Liberal MP Shaun Chen will resign his Scarborough North seat on Saturday, citing significant health issues from a serious car accident in late 2025 while commuting to Ottawa. Chen said the injuries have prevented him from travelling to Parliament as often as the role requires. First elected in 2015, Chen previously chaired the Toronto District School Board. A by-election must follow within 180 days.
