Pentagon Backs Sila's Silicon Anode Factory With $1.4B Loan

The Pentagon's Office of Strategic Capital signed a $1.4 billion conditional loan to help Sila Nanotechnologies expand its Moses Lake, Washington factory fivefold. The plant, running since September 2025, would supply anode material for over 100,000 EVs. Silicon anodes store 20–40% more energy than graphite, whose supply chain is dominated by Chinese companies.
