Typhoon Dolphin Strikes Zhejiang, Deepening Flood Risk After Bavi

Typhoon Dolphin hit Zhejiang on August 9, 2026, packing 150 km/h winds and forcing over one million evacuations. It landed just a month after Typhoon Bavi displaced 1.7 million in the same province. With river basins still saturated from Bavi, China's Ministry of Water Resources warned of major flooding along four rivers. Dolphin has since weakened below cyclone strength and is moving inland.
