Typhoon Dolphin Hits Zhejiang One Month After Typhoon Bavi, Compounding Flood Risk

Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in Zhejiang on August 9, 2026, with 150 km/h winds, forcing over one million evacuations. It arrived just one month after Typhoon Bavi displaced 1.7 million in the same province. China's Ministry of Water Resources warned the Qiantang, Yong, Jiao, and Shuiyang rivers could see major flooding, with basins still saturated from Bavi.
