Second Major Storm Hits China's Zhejiang Province in a Month

Typhoon Dolphin struck Zhejiang, China, on August 9, 2026, with 150 km/h winds, forcing over one million people to evacuate. It came just one month after Typhoon Bavi displaced 1.7 million there. Because the ground was still waterlogged from Bavi, officials warned that four rivers could badly overflow. Dolphin has since weakened and is moving inland.
