Ex-Thai Politician Says He Killed Local Official During YouTube Broadcast

On August 10, 2026, former Thai politician Chalong Reawraeng called into a live YouTube show and told the host he had shot Thongchai Yenprasert, a local government leader in Nonthaburi, Thailand. Thongchai, a retired police officer, died in hospital. Chalong later told reporters at a police station he acted in self-defense, claiming the victim pulled a gun first.
