Former Thai MP Admits Fatal Shooting on YouTube Livestream Before Police Statement

Former Thai MP Chalong Reawraeng called into a YouTube livestream on August 10, 2026, and told host Anchalee Paireerak he had shot Thongchai Yenprasert, president of Nonthaburi's Provincial Administrative Organisation. Thongchai, a retired police colonel, died in hospital. Chalong later claimed self-defense at an unorthodox police-station press conference, saying the driver drew a gun first.
