Iran's military says a key shipping route, the Strait of Hormuz, will stay shut until the US lifts its port blockade, ends economic penalties, returns frozen money, and pays compensation. That compensation demand is new — it wasn't in the June 15 ceasefire deal, which fell apart within days. The US president says the blockade costs Iran $500 million a day.
