Israel charges a settler in a rare killing trial in the West Bank

Israeli prosecutors charged settler Yinon Levi on August 6, 2026, with reckless manslaughter — causing death through extreme carelessness — in the shooting of Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen during a July 2025 clash in Umm al-Khair.
