FDA Approves First mRNA Flu Vaccine for Adults 50 and Older

The FDA approved Moderna's mFlusiva for adults 50 and older, the first seasonal flu vaccine using mRNA — the same technology behind some COVID shots — to reach the US market. Adults 50-64 got full approval after a 40,805-person study; those 65-plus got a faster-track approval. It will be available for the 2026-27 flu season.
