ACT wants to let more pharmacies open freely

ACT wants to scrap rules that limit who can own pharmacies and stop new ones opening near existing shops. Any pharmacy meeting safety and quality standards could open. The Government itself said in October 2025 the ownership limit isn't really being followed. David Seymour announced the policy in Auckland.
