ACT would scrap pharmacy ownership cap the Government already admits isn't working

ACT has proposed removing New Zealand's five-pharmacy ownership cap, which the Government's own October 2025 Regulatory Impact Statement acknowledged is "not being meaningfully followed." The party would also scrap proximity rules blocking new pharmacies near existing ones. Any pharmacy meeting safety and quality standards could open. David Seymour announced the policy in Auckland.
