Luxon promises public votes on voting system and longer parliamentary term

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says if National wins the 7 November election, voters will get to decide on MMP — the way we elect MPs — and whether Parliament's term grows from three years to four. NZ First's Winston Peters called it a "power grab". Labour's Chris Hipkins noted 58% kept MMP in 2011.
